Chinese civilization along the Yellow River, Indian civilization along the Indus River, Mesopotamian civilization along the Tigris River, and Egyptian civilization along the Nile River. All of the four great cradle of human civilization flourished in the lower reaches of major rivers, and the places that achieved industrialization in the 20th century were the Rhine River, an international river that flows through the major cities of Europe, and the Hangang River that flows through Seoul, the capital of South Korea. ), and the Taehwa River, which flows through Ulsan, are both located in the river basin. In other words, rivers were the mother of humanity and the source of culture. The Taehwa River is like a boundless warm mother's bosom that nurtures the people of Ulsan, and it is like a mother who inspires people with lyricism and romance, and comforts their feelings of hatred.
The Taehwa River is a river that runs through the center of Ulsan, meandering through Hwangnyongyeon (also known as Yonggeumso), which is located below the Taewakak pavilion. After passing through a scenic spot that was said to be one of the best mountains in the era, it empties into the East Sea at Ulsan Bay. The basin, which measures approximately 36 square kilometers from east to west and approximately 28 square kilometers from north to south, is mostly mountainous, with fertile plains spreading out on both banks and downstream of the river. Even today, the Taehwa River is an important water source for the citizens of Ulsan, and plays an important role in protecting the life of Ulsan. The Taehwa River has been designated as one of the nation's top 20 ecological tourism areas by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. A plan to utilize rooks, which fly magnificently in flocks across the sky in Ulsan, as ecological tourism, is being promoted in earnest, but in consideration of the local residents who are suffering from bird damage such as rook excrement, There is a plan to develop the area as an eco-village in conjunction with ecological tourism. On both banks of the Taehwa River from Ulsan Taehwa Bridge to Samho Bridge, there is the Taehwa River Bamboo Forest*, which is 20 to 30 meters wide and 4 km long. This bamboo forest was created during the Japanese occupation when frequent floods caused damage to cultivated land, so residents in the river basin planted bamboo on sandy riverbeds to prevent flooding. Today's Jiuri Bamboo Grove has become. The Taehwa River National Garden Flower Complex opened in May 2011, and the 16-hectare site is filled with approximately 60 million flowers of seven different varieties, including poppies, cornflowers, green oats, goldenrods, and gypsophila, creating a sea of flowers.
